Ronaldinho Dealt to Milan

In case you missed it, late Tuesday night Spanish side Barcelona agreed to the transfer of star player Ronaldinho to AC Milan for a fee of 21 million (approximately $33.5 million).  Ronaldinho is an amazing player (who didn’t know this?) who is cheered more than any other player or even team in the stadium when he steps on the pitch.  For a club like Milan $33 Million is a bargain price for a player of such high quality.  Madrid paid something on the order of $45 Million for David Beckham in his transfer from Manchester United, and while Becks is a great player I think there are few on the planet who would say he is at quite the same level as Ronaldinho.  It’s funny to think that this type of big name transfer has been completely overshadowed this summer due to all the drama surrounding Cristiano Ronaldo’s potential transfer (and transfer fee estimates being tossed around at as high as $80 million).  First came Ronaldo, then came Ronaldinho, and now again we experience the rise of Ronaldo.

We won't see much of this anymore, as Ronaldinho will be wearing the same jersey as these fellows the next time he steps on the pitch. (Image: wldcup.com)
