This Time I Really Disappeared!

It absolutely was not, and is not pretty.  A couple weeks back I noticed that all pages under www.joshcampoverde.com had gone completely blank.  The wordpress install and database were still intact, yet nothing was displayed on the landing page.  I’m by no means a wordpress master but I tried the few different things I could think of, and really couldn’t figure out what had gone awry.

So I made a couple backups of the wordpress database, threw them in my Dropbox folder, and started hacking at things in an attempt to make them better.  A fresh Wordpress install and a few sql commands later all the former content, comments, tags etc are back again.  The main casualty of the entire transfer seems to have been any files that were uploaded within the previous wordpress install.  That means anyone perusing old posts may stumble across missing images, video, audio, etc.  I did manage to maintain the prior permalink structure so I pages that used to exist should still exist now.

The only post I may actually replace the images for is the only one people ever come to the site to see, a post I did over a year ago about using the facebook app to add contact pictures on your iPhone.  I’ll get around to that at some point, but for now the site exists again, and after the time I put into making that happen tonight, I’m not as much interested in creating new content at the moment.  Until another time, enjoy the fact that text is being served at this domain.
